'Skating' at Somerset House!

Make-shift night out at the Diner!
So, the title of this post is a bit of a lie, sorry! These are just a few pictures of one of my recent outings to London lately, (I'll post the other's soon!). The first time I went, me and Alessio were planning on ice-skating in Somerset House, but for some reason we just didn't book it, and found out when we arrived that it's been booked up since the start of December?! Our fault really! So instead we walked to Carnaby Street for dinner at the Diner. I'd never been before, but have been wanting to go since the summer! The wait was so long, but it was so worth it! There were booths and all traditional diner-stuff inside, but there was a bit of a modernised London twist, if that makes any sense whatsoever! It was pretty dark in there though, so all of my pictures have either come out nearing pitch black, or bright yellow, so annoying!! I have a bit of a weird obsession with American diner's so I really could not visit this one, especially as i've been a bit deprived since the one in my University town closed down. Plus, sometimes a good burger and chips just makes everything better!
Christmas in only four more days, how crazy! We're making some jam tarts and mince pies later, so I might put a post up about it tomorrow, if you'd be interested?
Hope you're all enjoying the Christmas festivities!!
Love, Charlestown xoxo.

  1. i love trips to london :) this little diner looks gorgeous - my sister found a lovely diner when she went up there in november with some friends but they realised once they'd ordered that they were actually in a gay bar (she was with all girls)!! ooo your mince pies and jam tarts sound lovely :)

  2. Hi Charlie. Just thought I would leave a comment as I haven't so far. I only found your blog a few weeks ago and I really like it. I saw your tweet about your blog not going where you want it to, but I really like your blog and think it is definitely going in the right direction! It isn't about how frequently you post, but how good your posts are, and I really enjoy all your posts (esp the outfit posts, but I know that's a stereotypical thing to say).

Anyway, hope you have a lovely Christmas

  4. I am not a big blog follower, but I have to say I love reading your blog! A mutual friend posted a link non facebook and I'm so glad I read it. You give a new look to places in Kent/London which I take for granted, so thanks :) and I'm in Exeter at the uni and after your reading your blog really want to visit Cornwall! So chin up - you should be really proud of it :)

  5. definitely agree about a burger and chips making everything better sometimes, haha. that's a shame about the ice skating though, but 1950s american diners are the cutest so at least that made up for it!

  7. Just read your post and this is really weird cause I recently went to London where I went ice skating and went to the Diner for lunch in Camden. We also wanted to go to Somerset House for ice skating but it was all booked out. Anyways just thought that's such a coincidence! Hope you'll check out my blog too! :p
