Life Lately...

I'm going to start this post a little bit differently in that I'm not going to draw attention to how long it's been since the last one, or how I'm going to be posting so much going forward, because I might or I might not, and I'd rather just enjoy blogging rather than pressuring myself to do it! So instead, I thought I'd show a few little snapshots of what I've been up to recently.

J'adore Paris!
In October we had a fleeting trip to Paris, one of my favourite cities that I just wish I could live in. From the doors, the tree-lined streets, the noise of the sirens, the nutella pancakes (don't forget the nutella pancakes!) and the beautiful sights, I just really do love it all. We had a beautiful little apartment just a short walk away from the Notre Dame, with it's own traditional iron balcony, that I loved - especially as we could sit there at night watching the Parisians going about their lives with a big ol' glass of peach juice.

Pretty sites!
What I love about Paris is that you can just wander around the entire city (it is so big though!), and you'll always see something amazing, whether it's something a little more hidden like the Sainte-Chapelle or the something less so hidden, like the Louvre Pyramids!

Food, food, food.
And Paris has some pretty amazing dishes - I could live on a traditional Parisian breakfast of brioche, fresh bread, butter and croissants with jam, as much as my body would hate it! After seeing Blend Burgers cropping up on my Instagram feed quite regularly, I couldn't not visit (especially with sweet potato fries on the menu!). And of course, you can't visit Paris without popping into L'aduree.

Electric Cinema
After years of wanting to visit and dreaming about relaxing in one of their famous red velvet armchairs, I saw Interstellar at the Electric Cinema. If I could, it'd be the only cinema I ever visit from now on! Also, maybe one too many burgers recently - but with Honest Burgers right next door, how could you not?!

Treat yo' self
I jumped on the denim dungaree trend after years of envying Alexa's amazing look - I love wearing them with my trusty, tight roll-neck and tartan scarf. Last week I might have just found the most amazing thing that M&S have ever stocked (and I'm not talking about their food!) - this beautiful gold pineapple is filled with a deliciously Christmassy, yes Christmassy, scented candle!

It's Christmasss!
And finally, today marks exactly one month to go till Christmas Day, and I've been getting into the festive spirit with my Alpine-themed Joules onesie, hot chocolates with marshmallows, and good ol' Christmas favourites from Costa!

Returrrrn of the Mac (or Duster Coat, but y'know)

Well hasn't this post been a long time coming? It's only been 5 months. Wait, what - how has it been that long? It felt like only last week me and my sister were taking the photos for Glitter Pug, but at the same time, it also feels like my blog was a bit of a previous life that I had almost, (just almost!), forgotten about. But here, I'm back, once and for all, and with a vengeance!

This is all a bit too ramble-y and boring for a Monday evening, isn't? So, onto the clothes! I have a little bit of a confession to make in that these photos were actually taken sometime in May. In fact, they were taken by Sheri on one of the best days of my life - the Arctic Monkeys' Finsbury Park gig! We took these photos just around the corner in my little village, thinking we wouldn't get disturbed from anyone passing by, allowing us to be as silly as we wanted. However, as you've probably guessed, I don't think I've ever actually seen so many people drive down the road in the (nearly) three years I've lived here, but oh well! If you know me, or follow me on Instagram, you'll know that I have a bit of a penchant for two-pieces, whether they're trousers, shorts, skirts, flower print, stripes, polka dots, checks ...you get the picture. It was pretty much impossible for me to leave this gingham number behind, plus there's so much versatility with a two-piece, there's them together, the top on it's own, the shorts on their own (can you tell I'm trying to convince myself that it's okay to own as many as I do?!). Anyway, gingham, two piece, cropped boyish shirt, fitted shorts - need I say more? Zara did good!

Now I'm not going to promise that is me back blogging for good as I really just want to remember the reasoning behind why I initially started, and rekindle the love for my little piece on the internet. But, I will say that as I'm typing this, it is coming flooding back to me, so fingers crossed I'll be speaking to you all soon!

Glitter Pug

As silly as it sound's, this is my attempt at looking cool, and I don't quite make the cut ha! Cool is not the first word that springs to mind when I think about my style - more childish and cutesy than cool and chic! But to me, something about black jeans, stripes and a fedora just oozes cool, probably because it's what I imagine every Parisian-chic girl wearing, and we all know they're the most effortlessly cool people going!

Anyway, as the weather is starting to improve a little with more sun and more warmth, I thought I'd throw on my new jelly JuJu shoes from ASOS - they're covered in glitter, adding a little bit of my usual, childish self to the outfit. Plus, they're super comfy, I just need to work out what else I can wear them with! It's the perfect, lounging weekend outfit! P.S. did you notice that I managed to grab someone else into the photos too? Frank's definitely not adverse to a couple of photos, judging by how many I tend to take of him everyday!

You're Changing in the Light

I realise that it is probably a little too early on in the year to have my legs out, but screw it! Plus, I wanted to show how I would wear this dress in a bit more of a formal/going out way. I don't really like dressing up for going out-out, if you know what I mean, preferring to stick to slightly more covered up and daytime things, like dresses - getting my legs out is about as adventurous as I'll go! But throw on a pair of block heels and you're good to go! Anyway, this beauty of a dress is another gem that I've recently snagged from Topshop. Being surrounded by their clothes (and shoes!) every weekend is both a blessing and a curse, trust me.

This dress has been all over Instagram recently -  I know that quite a few people have it and love it as much as I do - but it really is a special little number. As if it's on-trend gingham print, pastel muted tones and little slip underneath didn't have me at hello, it even has a Peter Pan collar thrown in for good measure! As you can probably tell, I'm very much head-over-heels for this Spring's pastel trend, even if it does make me look like a walking, talking ice-cream. But surely that can never be a bad thing...

I want you home, I want you here.

It's finally here, my first outfit post of 2014 (and it's February, i'm ashamed!). I've not been in the mood to post an outfit for a while, what with bad weather, lots of darkness and just not being able to find the time. Well, that was until I stumbled across this dress at work, Topshop have really outdone themselves this time! It's got three of my favourite trends at the moment all rolled into one: tartan, monochrome and of course, the smock. I will forever love a smock, being able to subtly hide the massive amount of food that may have been consumed that day (think yum yums and McDonald's breakfast).

What did you all do this weekend? We visited the beach, even if the sun did quickly turn into a torrential downpour for a brief while, but there's nothing better than being by the sea when it's freezing cold and windy!
Now I know that i'm always promising that I'll be a better updater on here, but my goal of 2014 is to really work on my blog. I always forget how much I love it until i'm sitting down to actually write it, and I really do love it. Plus, I love being able to look back to see how things have changed over the months, much better than a diary! And I am not too sure if you can tell, but I've got a new lens, so here is to much better photo's (obviously not better poses though ha!). So you can take my word for it; 2014 will be the year I blog. More. I promise. If not I will eat my hat.

Sunday Morning Rain is Falling

Hello and Happy New Year! Yes, it has been that long since I last posted on here, tut tut. Hope you all had a lovely Christmas, and haven't yet given up on your New Year's Resolutions!
I thought i'd start the year off on my blog with a bit of a different post from me; as much as I do love outfit posts, one of my resolutions in 2014 is to share more day-to-day activities on my blog. And so here we are.
I love Sunday's, and to have the day off has been a bit of a rarity for me as of late, so I intended to fully enjoy myself today! After a little shopping trip, which involved treating myself to a couple of smock dresses from Topshop (work discount, oh how I love you), I found myself back with a few of my favourite things; cup of tea, Tunnock's teacake and my new radio. This radio has very quickly stolen a place in my heart; for starters it's absolutely beautiful with a retro 50's-style wood finish, it's music quality is crystal clear, and it also has bluetooth so I could be anywhere in the house and listen to it via my phone (which I don't really understand but oh well). Give me a cup of tea, good music, and a tasty biscuit and i'm set for the day (boring old lady over here!).
I'm constantly going through different phases with my music taste (from the Beatles, to Beyonce, to Busted), but I'll always have a little soft spot for the sixties, AbsoluteRadio60's has to be the best Sunday morning station for me; with the Who, Kinks, Beach Boys, Zombies and the Yardbirds! With my smock on, dancing around the kitchen probably looked more than ridiculous, as you can imagine.
What's included on your perfect Sunday morning playlist? I'd love to know as i'm always looking for new music/bands to listen to!
