Red, White & Blue!

Polka Dot Peplum: H&M ~ Blue Trousers: Mango ~ Burgundy Loafers: Russell & Bromley

Happy Olympics Day!
Hello! I thought that I should probably wear my best Olympic-inspired outfit today to celebrate the opening ceremony! Who else is excited about watching it tonight? Are you going to any events, my dad managed to get us tickets for the semi-final of men's diving! To celebrate, my outfit had to be red, white & blue, so I put on my new peplum top that I bought in the H&M sale in Bristol, i'd been after it since it first came out, it's such a nice fit!
Sorry (once again) about my absence for the past week, it's been pretty busy for me! I spent Friday to Monday with my family and boyfriend, Alessio lazing about, with lots of food. On Tuesday I was helping out at a photo-shoot for Homes & Antiques magazine in North Acton, and was asked back on Wednesday. It was such a good insight into the running of a magazine shoot (I didn't realise just how much thought goes into each still-life photo, and how one button or pin can make or break the photo), plus I loved looking at all of the lovely antiques bits and bobs being used! Tomorrow i'm driving back to Falmouth with my dad, to move into my new house, and will be driving back straight after, hello 12 round-trip!
Hope you've all had a lovely week so far, and enjoy the opening ceremony tonight!
Love, Charlestown xoxo.
P.S I didn't realise just how noticeable the pockets of my trousers are? Horrible!
P.P.S Sorry for these lacklustre posts as of late! I haven't really had that much spare time recently, but after Saturday I will so you can expect more interesting (hopefully) posts from then!

Shake it up Baby, now, Twist and Shout!

Trench Coat: Zara ~ Trousers: Topshop ~ Body: New Look ~ Espadrille Wedges: New Look ~  Satchel: Urban Outfitters

Velvet polka dots, beehive and a hint of rose;
Hello everyone!
Wow, it's really been a while since my last post, hasn't it! I've been in Bristol for the past two weeks for my placement with Homes & Antiques magazine, and only got back home yesterday afternoon. I've really had such an amazing fortnight, I can't quite explain just how much I enjoyed it. I was given lots of jobs to do, and everyone there made me feel like I was one of the team. It's also made me feel a lot more confident in terms of career choice, I've been feeling worried lately about not having a clue of what direction I would go for after uni, but after my placement I definitely feel like magazine editorial work, or journalism, is the career for me! If you follow me on instagram, you might have seen that I finally managed to visit Bath, after wanting to go for such a long time. It's such a beautiful city and I fell for it pretty much straight away! There will hopefully be some pictures up soon!
After venturing back home yesterday (on first class, might I add - but psst, it was only £2 more than a normal ticket!), me and my family all went out for a meal at Smith & Western's in Tunbridge Wells (think Mexican style food in a Wild West setting!), the portions were massive, and the food delicious. I had a veggie burrito and a vanilla milkshake, but I just about ate half! As it was my sisters birthday meal, there was a special surprise dessert, a massive glass bowl of everything sweet and chocolatey you could imagine, and I managed to squeeze in a couple of spoonfuls!
Last week I received some amazing news, just in case you didn't hear me squealing with a mixture of joy and surprise from Bristol Bus Station, or see my super-excited tweets; I've been shortlisted for Cosmo's Best Newcomer award! I cannot believe it! So thank you so much to everyone who voted for me, I can't explain just how much it means to me! There's some amazing blogs being nominated, so I can't believe that my little blog has been too! Thank you, thank you, thank you!! But the voting hasn't finished yet, so if you like my blog, it'd really mean so, so much if you could take two seconds to vote for me as Best Newcomer!
Love, Charlestown xoxo.

Two High Teas, Please!

Dolly's Tearoom;
A couple of weeks ago, I received two very lovely cards in the post from my Grandparents and my Great Nan to say congratulations for my Second Year results, and they also treated me and Alessio to a cream tea! We went to Dolly's Tearoom (again, I know!) as (I think) it's the best in town for high tea, I was planning to get some outfit shots too, but the weather was so awful, we literally just ran back and forth from the car to Dolly's.
Sorry about my lack of posting lately, after my last post I was back in Falmouth for just a week, which was filled with packing, cleaning and moving (oh, and don't forget stress!). I'm now back home in Kent, having seemed to have driven my entire life's belongings from Cornwall in my little car, and celebrated my little sister's birthday yesterday. On Friday, I'm travelling to Bristol for my placement with BBC Homes & Antiques magazine for two weeks, which i'm feeling a mixture of excitement and nerves for. I also do not have a clue what sort of clothes to pack, does anyone have any ideas?! Any suggestions would be really appreciated!! So, I'll apologise in advance if i'm pretty absent these next couple of weeks, but i'll try to fit in a post or two when I can! If not, hope you all have a lovely July, and hopefully when i'm next back to my little-piece-of-the-internet, the sun will be back too!
Love, Charlestown xoxo.
P.S. I'll still be regularly updating my Instagram if you want to take a peek (even if it is all food.. ha!)
P.P.S I look pretty gross in the picture above, my hair had just witnessed a torrential downpour, and it's not something it quite agrees with!
