You and Me Could've Been a Team, Each Had a Half of a King and Queen Seat

Now, I can already tell that this is going to be one of my favourite outfits this autumn. I've been coveting a tartan skirt for a while now, and as I was constantly eyeing up this perfect little pastel number whilst at work, it was never going to end well. You probably already know by now that the 60's is by far my favourite era, and I try to emulate the sixties sirens at every available chance I get (more often than not, failing), so it was only natural that this A-line plaid beauty would fall into my 'work' uniform. Paired with a high-neck blouse and loafers, I probably look a bit more OTT than Carey Mulligan in An Education, but I can only dream!

Anyway, enough of my silly ramblings about clothes, I hope everyone kept safe during last night's storm. We managed to escape with one broken tree down here, but the train lines didn't seem to fare so well; my station was closed till nearly 2pm with no sign of any improvement. It seems strange that a season that is filled with the death and drying of nature can be so beautiful, but it is by far my favourite of them all; the autumnal hues, nights drawing in and chills in the air, I wish it could stay like this forever (even if it does mean indulging in one too many hot-chocolates and toffee apples!).

Memories Take Me Back to All of The Wildest Times

Hello, and once again it is Sunday evening! The weekend really does fly by, doesn't it? I've been meaning to share these photo's for a while now, but have been pretty reluctant as i'm not overly keen on them. A few weekends back, I spent my Saturday with the beauties that are Dunya, Olivia and Carrie, eating delicious (and pretty) food in Bill's, chatting over our Rosemary bread and my pink lemonade float, and of course, taking blog photo's! I have to admit, taking outfit photo's is definitely not one of my strongest points. I'm only used to a very select few being behind the camera, so with my nervousness plus a very busy London street cue me looking extremely awkward and ordinary amongst some very cool ladies!

But anyway, i've got my trusty Topshop fluffy pink jumper on that seems to be everyone's favourite this winter. It's cosy, cropped, pink and fluffy, what more could you want? It seems to go with just about everything in my wardrobe, (or maybe that's just me hoping it does!?) so it'd be silly not to venture to some of the other colours available, right? I threw it over another new favourite of mine, my sixties-style dress with it's high-collar, A-line shape and crochet detail, of course taking inspiration from my favourite era, whilst trying (and failing) to emulate it. Pink seemed to be the go-to colour that day, as we were all showcasing some sort of rosy hue!

Honey, I'm not your Honey Pie

Hello there! Long time no see. I've been settling into working a 9.30-5.30 day, and as it's already dark when I get back home, spending the evening on my laptop after a whole day of staring at a screen is not really ideal. But I've really missed blogging, and it means a lot to me, so I need to force myself to get back into the swing of things, even if that does mean going to bed a little later than 10.30 (I'm too old before my time!).
A couple of weeks ago I got these Levi 501's from Brag Vintage, and to be honest I initially had no clue what to wear with them. The high-waisted 'mom' jeans are something that I'd had my eye on for a while, always envying the girls that could wear them without looking anything like a throwback from the 90's or an American mum, but then I thought 'What Would Alexa Do?'. Of course, throw on a stripy t-shirt and be done with it! I now actually love these jeans, especially as they are flatteringly high-waisted, fitted and loose in all the right places, if you know what I mean. I wore them with my new Topshop boots (which are pretty much stuck to my feet) for good measure, to give me that little bit of extra height, and hopefully I can just about pull them off.
Anyway, is everyone else as addicted to the new Haim album as I am?! God, how I wish I could be the fourth member of their effortlessly cool, long-haired club. We can all dream, right?
Thank you for sticking around this month, I so badly want to keep this blog up, so keep your eyes peeled!
