Burgundy Maxi, a Floppy Hat & Elbow Patches;
Hello lovely readers!
So when the lovely Katy of CaughtUpInCake contacted me asking if i'd take part in the 'How We Wore: Maxi Skirt' challenge, I was pretty apprehensive. I'm not very brave with what I wear, and just about feel brave enough to let my hems pass my knees. But, I am also a bit of a self-confessed compulsive buyer, and bought this skirt last summer thinking I would wear it all the time, just because I liked how it looked on other people. However, a year later and the lovely coloured maxi is still hanging up, never worn and neglected. So Katy's challenge was just what was needed to provide a little bit of confidence for me to give it a go. And I have to say, although I felt like my unusually high level of clumsiness was heightened even more with the possibility of tripping, I think i've fallen for the maxi skirt. I was expecting it to make me feel short and stumpy, but it had the opposite effect, and I actually felt pretty ladylike and grown-up in it, which is pretty unusual for me as I usually feel that I resemble a fourteen year old. I definitely think i'll be wearing my maxi more regularly this summer, so thank you Katy!
Thank you for your lovely comments on my last post! Hellocotton even showcased it on their front page as one of the top posts of the day, which was pretty amazing! It's little things like that, that make me want to keep on blogging, even if I do get the few odd unusual remarks/comments, so thank you!
Tomorrow i'm venturing back home for the weekend (I should be on the train as you read this!) to see West Side Story live at the Royal Albert Hall with my mum and sisters! I cannot wait, West Side Story is such a good film, and tomorrow there'll be an orchestra playing the score whilst the movie is projected. What are you up to this weekend? Have you all finished your exams now, and are free for the summer?
The deadline for nominations for the Cosmo's Newcomer Blog Award is coming up pretty quickly, and it would really mean so much to me if you would vote for my little blog if you enjoy reading it! I feel a bit cheeky for asking, but thank you! I've left a little link at the end of this post.
Love, Charlestown xoxo.
