You and Me Could've Been a Team, Each Had a Half of a King and Queen Seat

Now, I can already tell that this is going to be one of my favourite outfits this autumn. I've been coveting a tartan skirt for a while now, and as I was constantly eyeing up this perfect little pastel number whilst at work, it was never going to end well. You probably already know by now that the 60's is by far my favourite era, and I try to emulate the sixties sirens at every available chance I get (more often than not, failing), so it was only natural that this A-line plaid beauty would fall into my 'work' uniform. Paired with a high-neck blouse and loafers, I probably look a bit more OTT than Carey Mulligan in An Education, but I can only dream!

Anyway, enough of my silly ramblings about clothes, I hope everyone kept safe during last night's storm. We managed to escape with one broken tree down here, but the train lines didn't seem to fare so well; my station was closed till nearly 2pm with no sign of any improvement. It seems strange that a season that is filled with the death and drying of nature can be so beautiful, but it is by far my favourite of them all; the autumnal hues, nights drawing in and chills in the air, I wish it could stay like this forever (even if it does mean indulging in one too many hot-chocolates and toffee apples!).

  8. This looks really authentically 60s. Love the coat, especially its warm color. The 60s are really the best for this season, since they allow you to wear thick, dark, woolen tights instead of just sheer nude tights, like for 40s or 50s outfits. :-) And also this combination of short skirts and dark tights goes great with boots!

I hope everything is okay at your home place. Was really scared about my friends in Newcastle :-(

  10. I absolutely adore this outfit miss, I'm really digging the 60s vibe right now myself and have picked up a tartan mini similar to yours but sadly not in pastel shades.
