Cherished Gold Interiors

Hello hello Blue Monday! Apparently today is the most depressing day of the year, because of the bad weather, everybody desperately awaiting payday after Christmas, our lack of motivation and us already failing (albeit not admitting to) our new resolutions. Although I can definitely say I've experienced these bad feelings over the last couple of days, I say we ditch the blue Monday rubbish! Why does it have to be a blue Monday just because others tell us it is? We're in control of our experiences and emotions - so I'm spending mine getting inspired by the Dulux Colour of the Year - Cherished Gold. Now gold is something that isn't quite for me, but I do appreciate a little metallic accent - especially when paired with greys, whites (and my new favourite colour of the year) Pantone's Rose Quartz. If, like me, you enjoy a fleck of gold, take a look at my favourite pieces...

I think that gold, or any metallics for that matter, are really easy to style and introduce into any space - they tend to fit nicely in any interior and sit comfortably in all styles. For example, if you're going for a girly and on-trend space, mix with white and accents of pink, or for a more rustic/traditional look style with a mixture of blue hues, from mint to navy. How would you, or do you, style gold? I love how gold accents look in a monochrome or very simple room!
